Log Collector

Introduction​

Log Collector O11ySource is designed to gather, aggregate and store log data generated by various software applications, systems, or devices from Linux/Windows operating system. In the context of information technology, logs are records of events or activities that occur within a system. These events could include error messages, warnings, user actions, security events, and more. The primary purpose of this is to centralize log data from different systems, making it easier for administrators, developers or analysts to manage and analyze the information. Instead of checking logs individually on each system, this O11ySource consolidates this data into a centralized location, providing a unified view.

Getting Started​

Compatibility​

The Log Collector O11ySource is compatible with Linux and Windows environments.

  • Linux: CentOS (7). RHEL (7, 8), Ubuntu (18.04, 20.04), SLES (12, 15), Debian (8, 9), Amazon (Linux, Linux 2)
  • Windows: Windows (8.1, 10, 11), Windows Server (228R2, 2012/R2, 2016, 2019, 2022)

Data Collection Method​

The Log Collector O11ySource uses VuNet's Logbeat agent to collect logs data. This agent collects data based on the source configuration.
